IBC first opened in 1989 in the city of Cianjur, West Java where the restaurant also later won a local cooking competition. Shortly, they branched out to Java's east end in the city of Surabaya in 1994. Being on a different culinary soil took some time for the Sundanese taste to be acquired by the locals.

As a restaurant, we strive to source locally as much as we can. We have our own greenhouse at our Pandaan outlet, where we grow some of our own hydroponic vegetables -which after each harvest we distribute them to our outlets. We pride in using fresh local ingredients, put together into delicious, healthy, family friendly meals suitable for lunch or dinner. In October 2009 and 2014, IBC was awarded "GEMARIKAN" (Gerakan Memasyarakatkan Makan Ikan) by the Ministry of Maritime  Affairs and Fisheries.
